The One Year in Mission-North Philippine Union Conference team started their ministry last July 15, 2014. The team was organized through the leadership of John Michael B. Docot, OYiM-NPUC Coordinator and with his three subordinating staffs: Lendale Jen D. Barnedo, Program & Communication In-charge; Sherrie Ann R. Ramos, Finance and Mikhael Ronald F. Falo, Media. With God’s goodness He prepared 6 young people from different Missions/Conferences around North Philippine Union Conference who are ready and willing to serve God in His ministry and they are the following: Tindale L. Abalos, from Northern Luzon Mission (NLM), Albert S. Dichoso from Southern Luzon Mission (SLM), Jared V. Broñola from Palawan Adventist Mission (PAM), Roger D. Raymundo from Mountain Provinces Mission (MPM), Princess Ann S. Ignacio from Central Luzon Conference (CLC) and Nelie Mae P. Gamilla from South-Central Luzon Conference (SCLC).
The OYiM-NPUC Team was based at Barangay 9, C. Tirona St. Batangas City. For almost 1 month working with God at Batangas City, the team built a good relationship with each other that creates strong faith and unity. At first, the orientation and amazing race was organized by the staff for the OYiM delegates with the purpose of familiarizing Batangas City and establishing rapport to the community.
Throughout the month, the team conducted several activities which the Adventist young people of Metro and Central Batangas were involved. During July 25-27, 2014, when the OYiM-NPUC conducted Spiritual Retreat in partnership with the AMiCUS Batangas Chapter, Adventist Youth  Organization Serving God Always (AYOSGA) and the Adventist Youth Leaders and Officers, together with us are Pastor Edgardito Franche, Youth Ministries Director of Southern Luzon Mission, Pastor Sherman Fiedacan, Youth Ministries Director of Central Luzon Conference, Pastor Zaldy Estrada, Youth Ministries Director of South-Central Luzon Conference and Pastor Robin and Mrs. Zeny Willison as our guests. There were more than 70 attendees in that spiritual retreat who also participated in the Compassion Project activity which held at Batangas City on the last day of the said program.
The compassion project was divided into four groups: (1) Burger ministry at Plaza Mabini, (2) Market ministry at the New Market, (3) Dispatcher ministry at the Grand Terminal and (4) A fruit for a cigarette at the Pier. Through the goodness of God, the said compassion project was become successful.
As part of the social, mental, physical and spiritual growth, the team attended classes too through the efforts of the invited lecturers/speakers who prepares the mind of the OYiM in preparation for their greater task. Dr. Emily Linatoc, a Psychologist & Guidance Counselor of LPU Batangas, shares about personality development and challenges of the youth today; Pastor Dave Morado, the Youth Ministries Director of the NPUC, shares about reaching the elite people through friendship evangelism; Pastor Andrew Pearce, Theology Instructor of Naga View Adventist College, shares his lectures about mission to the city, church and society, and spiritual formation, Mrs. Jocelyn Fitalcurin, the Asso. Health Ministries Director of SCLC, shares about Health approach in reaching the people with karada scan.
The OYiM-NPUC Team is also supportive to the work and ministry of the church. They supported the Medical Missions, Community Outreach and Services in partnership with the Adventist Community Services (ACS) and Health Ministries Department of Batangas Seventh-day Adventist Church and of the South-Central Luzon Conference.
The One Year in Mission-NPUC Team was blessed with those people who support them, not only in financial matters but also in prayers and moral support.
In behalf of One Year in Mission-NPUC task force, we would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to all who gave their support in different ways for the success of our programs/activities. May the Lord continue to use and bless you more. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

keikole:

After a sleepless Sabbath night One year in Mission SAUM team and AY youth around KK city had the “Adventist Compassion Walking Day” August 24, 2014 started from 7 am until 12 pm along the street at the center of KK city toward the crowded Desoka Sunday market at Gaya Street, the center with many tourists from around the world and working local people.

Just simple acts: giving happy song, giving Compassion ballon with a caring card, a Newstart, a Compassion flag, a surprising meal/drink at a Chinese restaurant or Mc Donald, a warmest free hug… Adventist Youth made a Compassion influenced to community around us to see and awake themselves to share the kindness to people.

The meaningful Sunday made ‘we are the blessing and blessed ourselves’ by practicing what Jesus had done ahead of us.
